Primary Documents

More than one hundred collections with primary documents cover a wide range of topics in twentieth-century American history. Most of the documents are on microfilm or microfiche, some are published in hardbound volumes and a few are paper archives. Whatever the format, all documents may be reproduced either by Xeroxing machines, digital readers, or by camera.

Special (paper) collections include the Kuhn Collection (newspaper clippings on FDR), the Fulbright Archives, the Van Stekelenburg Collection on Dutch-North-American immigration.

The collections are organized in five main categories:

  1. Presidential Collections and Administrations
  2. Foreign Relations
  3. Civil Rights and Minorities
  4. Dutch-American Relations
  5. General Subjects
