We are excited to announce that the website for the Knowledge Center for the History of Slavery (Kenniscentrum Slavernijverleden) has just been launched.
The Center was established by the Zeeland Archives, the Keti Koti Zeeland foundation, the Transatlantic Slavery Impact Knowledge Center foundation, the Roosevelt Institute for American Studies, University College Roosevelt, the HZ University of Applied Science, the Zeeland Library, and representatives of the Province of Zeeland and the three Walcheren municipalities: Middelburg, Vlissingen and Veere.
It seeks to promote remembrance and keep alive the attention for the history of slavery by developing, uniting, and sharing knowledge about the history of slavery and its impact and by stimulating the celebration of the abolition of slavery.
Keep an eye on their website for updates and more information about their important work.
